PICTURES ANNOUNCEMENTS HOME
This is one page of a standard 3 page family web-site. It is designed to have pictures, news and announcements and other information to keep distant family and friends informed about family events and news. The back-ground color, font (the shape of the letters), font color, link names or link buttons, banners and bullets you might want can be submitted at the time of ordering to be incorporated into the web-page. If you have special designs or drawings that are NOT in electronic format, they can be duplicated electronically and added to a web-page for an additional charge.
Each picture web-page can be made up to incorporate a set of thumb-nailed images (up to twenty) with short captions for the thumbnail images. The thumbnails are small picture representations of the larger picture. They allow a person to view the smaller picture to decide if they want to see the larger picture in more detail. This prevents slow-loading web-pages as a person waits for a dozen or more full-sized pictures to load in.
Every web-page layout has the capacity to be unique and you are encouraged to use your imagination in deciding how you want them to look. Thumbnails can be arranged in a grid, a circle or even a star-burst pattern, for example. News or announcement pages can be stylized, straightforward or molded to suit your needs. As always, background colors or patterns, fonts and font colors are entirely up to you provided you submit them when you order your web page. What you want to say, and how you want to say it, are also things to think about.
In order for a web-page to be completed, all media must be submitted at the time of ordering. Pictures need not be in electronic format and there is no charge for up to 20 of them, however a self-addressed, stamped envelope will be required if you want them back. Pictures must be suitable for viewing by the general public and may not contain obscene or graphic material. PCT Computer Services reserves the right to refuse to incorporate any image deemed unsuitable. All other media, drawings, sketches or plans must be sibmitted, either via e-mail or U.S. mail when ordering.
Everyone has the option to have their web-page put on a CD and returned to them or uploaded directly to their family web-site or domain. This option must be stated before the start of the project and all relevant information given at that time.
No web-page project will be started until/unless a price and time frame have been agreed upon. Any changes sumbitted after that point will void the price and time agreement, meaning it will probably take longer and cost more. There will be one 'preview' of the web-page available for fine-tuning before the finished product is delivered. This will consist of a color, font and lay-out preview showing what the placements, background and font appearance and color will look like. The actual content will NOT be included until the final project is created. All 'minor' modifications to the web-pages must be submitted in writing (e-mail will do) within 24 hours of receiving notice that the preview has been posted. Otherwise, the project will continue without modification.
A few tips on receiving a wonderful web-page:
- 1) Draw out the lay-out - know what should go where and how.
- 2) Send samples of the colors you want. Don't just say 'blue'. Send the exact shade(s).
- 3) Know what font(s) you want (the name of it/them), where (which font in what place, message, etc) and what it should be (bold, italic, regular, upper-case, exact color, etc)
- 4) Once you know what you want, don't make changes. THEY WILL COST YOU A LOT MORE!
- 5) Respond to communications promptly. The time limit is set by YOU.
- 6) Pick your own graphics from pre-packaged clip-art. We don't mind doing it for you, but it's faster and less expensive to find something you like and send it to us than it is for us to first develop the graphics, have you approve them and then put them into the web-page.
- 7) Submit everything you're going to put into the web-page at one time. A bit here and a piece there may get lost in the shuffle. If you're e-mailing the electronic formats and U.S. mailing the rest, that's alright, but it's best if you can put your clip-art or other electronic formatted images on a floppy disk, zip disk or CD and send it along at the same time.
This is YOUR web-page. We try to make it the way YOU want it. If you're happy with YOUR ideas, we'll make them a reality.
