DATA BACK-UP
& STORAGE
The average hard drive lasts five years. This means that half of them fail in
under five years. If you don't have your essential files stored safely in a place
other than your hard drive, you will lose them. Most files today are too numerous
and/or too big to conveniently store on floppy disks. If you don't have a back-up
device (and most home users and even small businesses don't), backing up your files is an
exercise in frustration at best and sometimes frankly impossible. By having your
files in a safe location outside of your computer, you guarantee that your files will be
safe when the inevitable hard drive failure occurs. Data recovery from a failed hard
drive costs at least $100.00 an hour and can take tens of hours to do. We make
sure you don't need to have your important data recovered from a crashed hard drive by
safely and securely storing it on an easy-to-use CD. We can also restore your data
from this CD after your crashed hard drive has been replaced. (For information on
in-home service for replacing crashed hard-drives and restoring your computer, see Consultations & Help).

Costs and Means
To back up your information you MUST have a Windows 95 or later operating system.
Backing up information is based on time and the average cost is $120.00 for up to
2 hours of data back-up time. Any amount of data can be backed up (Up to and including the
entire contents of your hard drive). Minimum fee is $75.00 (assuming you
provide the materials such as CD's, DVD's or an external hard drive) and time is charged at a rate of
$45.00 an hour after the first hour. The more information requested to be backed up, the longer it
usually takes and the higher the price will be.
This service can be done over the Internet but requires a direct connection
to your computer. Pricing and availability for this method can be

well as home users - at the above-mentioned price.
